Analog Rituals — Artworks & Artefacts

Analog Rituals is the material and object-making practice of Ant The Elder.

Encompassing painting, drawing, ceramics, jewellery and other forms of object-making, the work emerges through processes of experimentation, contemplation and ritualised production.

Materials are approached not only as substances to be manipulated, but as participants in the development of an artwork. Marks, traces, residues and transformations become part of the visual and conceptual language of each object.

Some works function as talismanic objects, intended to inhabit personal or domestic environments. Others exist as autonomous artworks, exploring form, symbolism and the relationship between material processes and artistic intention.

Analog Rituals continues to develop through individual works, collections, exhibitions and collaborative projects.
