Ant The Elder

Ant The Elder is a London-based interdisciplinary artist and tattooist working across three interconnected practices: Skin Rituals, Analog Rituals and Live Rituals.

The practice explores ritual as a framework for investigating transformation, identity and embodied experience. Moving between tattooing, artefact making and performance, the work considers the relationships between the body, the material object, image and action.

Through Skin Rituals, Ant develops bespoke tattoo projects, with a particular interest in large-scale compositions, ornamental structures and symbolic imagery.

Analog Rituals explores the creation of paintings, ceramics, jewellery and other objects as material expressions of personal ritual and artistic research.

Live Rituals extends this enquiry into performance, installations and collaborative experiences, creating situations in which process, intention and participation become part of the artwork.

Based in London and working across the UK and internationally, Ant welcomes enquiries for tattoo commissions, exhibitions, institutional collaborations, performance commissions and other creative projects.
